Prior to establishing Thomas E. Brennan, Attorney-at-Law, LLC, Attorney Brennan was a partner at a large Connecticut law firm with offices located around the state and then became a partner at a boutique law firm in Westport, CT, to focus on further developing his elder law and probate practice.
Attorney Brennan helps the elderly to plan and apply for Medicaid benefits, determine whether to pay for long-term care at a nursing home facility or to receive care at home. He helps families petition for conservatorships and often serves as a conservator for the elderly.
Attorney Brennan also provides estate planning services, including the preparation of wills, trusts, advance medical directives, living wills and durable powers of attorney. When a loved one has passed away, Attorney Brennan is retained by executors to aid them in settling estates. He has also been appointed as a fiduciary in various capacities, including as a trustee, executor and administrator.
In addition to advising individuals and businesses and representing them in general litigation matters, Attorney Brennan also has an active probate litigation practice. He has been retained by probate courts and fiduciaries in high profile probate matters. He represents beneficiaries and fiduciaries (such as executors and administrators) as clients in probate appeals, will contests, contested accounting proceedings, hearings to remove a fiduciary, contested conservatorship and guardianship matters, estate disputes involving debt owed to the State, and litigation to recoup assets stolen from estates.
A lifelong resident of Fairfield County, Attorney Brennan resides in Trumbull, CT, with his wife and young daughter.
